Memphis needs more ideas for human flourishing and more jobs that value the vast gifts of people from all over our city and region. That is why at The Center, we aim to connect entrepreneurs with the tools they need – such as coaching, gifts assessment, community groups, and learning resources.
Entrepreneurs in Residence
In 2024, we officially launched our Entrepreneurs in Residence program. This program strategically supports entrepreneurs with advice, mentorship, space, processes, assessments, and resources, as well as our networks of connections to expertise and capital.

Meet Charlie McCarty
After several years of mentorship, organizational development work, and listening to the needs of leaders across Memphis, Charlie saw a clear opportunity: helping leaders and teams build healthier, more aligned organizations. That vision led to the creation of Alignment Practice, where Charlie began serving as Partner on February 2, 2026.
Alignment Practice helps leaders and teams build healthier organizations through thoughtful listening and the practical application of proven assessments, tools, and workshops. The firm exists to equip organizations to do excellent work for the good of people.
Charlie served as a consultant, sales leader, and trainer with Dale Carnegie, partnering with organizations ranging from Fortune 100 companies and regional manufacturers to locally owned businesses. His people-centered, advisor-first approach shaped custom solutions and drove measurable growth for clients. Charlie also brings corporate experience in merchandising with AutoZone, where he managed multiple leading product categories. That operational background in pricing, inventory, and cross-functional collaboration shapes the practical, results-oriented perspective he brings to leadership and organizational development. A lifelong Memphian, Charlie is passionate about investing in leaders, organizations, and the city that shaped him. He believes that faith, attitude, and service are the foundation of meaningful work and strives to bring energy, intentionality, and creativity to every client relationship.
